The first track on this album is kind of a weird noisy instrumental, and then What’s Good comes on and sounds like early Wilco/Uncle Tupelo and I don’t know what’s going anymore.
I can’t claim to have listened to much Lou Reed before this. I really enjoyed What’s Good. The rest of the concept album…less so. There were times, like in Sword of Damocles, where the melody and lyrics seemed to have been written and sung independently from the music: never quite matching up.
